You also have a player level and by progressing through the game you can increase your level. The highest level is level 70, although it is very hard to get to this level. A large part of the game is making friends with other people, they're then known as your neighbours. It is important to get as many neighbours as you can because they can help you to increase your level. To increase your player level you need to maintain your farm and harvest your crops. However experience points (which determine your player level) can be earned by working on other peoples farms. If you have a lot of neighbours you will be able to work on all their farms meaning that your level will go up quickly. Another upside of working on other people's farms is that the work will be appreciated and they will recommend you to their neighbours. Once this has happened you will have a large network of neighbours and a lot of them will come and work on your farm. This will improve your farm and it will all happen on autopilot with little effort from yourself so long as you put the effort into getting the neighbours in the first place.
